Linkola

For users · for Meta App Review

How Linkola uses your Instagram data

We're a growth co-pilot for Instagram creators. To do our job we read your own account's posts and insights via Meta's Graph API — nothing more. Every permission below is mapped to a specific feature you can see in-app.

TL;DR — Our data principles

  • We only read data you have explicit access to (your own IG Business account).
  • We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
  • Insights are cached short-term (5-10 min) only to make the app fast — we don't build a long-term profile of your audience.
  • AI features (Coach, Analyzer, Boost Recommendations) use Anthropic Claude / Google Gemini under your account; no model is fine-tuned on your data.
  • You can delete your account and all data at any time — we honour the request within 24 hours.
  • Read-only by design — we cannot post, message, spend money on ads, or change anything on your IG/FB account.

Permission-by-permission breakdown

instagram_basic

Why we ask: Identify which IG Business account you've connected and list your own posts (id, caption, media, timestamp).

What we do with it: Show your profile + 60 most-recent posts on the Dashboard and Posts pages.

We do NOT: Read DMs · scrape other users · post on your behalf.

instagram_manage_insights

Why we ask: Fetch per-post analytics: views, reach, likes, comments, saves, engagement rate.

What we do with it: Power the Dashboard KPIs, posting-time heatmap, top-post ranking, A/B tester, Engagement Velocity tracker, AI Coach grounding, and Boost Recommendations.

We do NOT: Sell your insights · share them with other Linkola users · use them for advertising.

pages_show_list

Why we ask: List the Facebook Pages you manage so we can find the linked IG Business account.

What we do with it: Show the Page → IG connection picker in Workspace.

We do NOT: Modify your Pages · read Page DMs · publish posts.

pages_read_engagement

Why we ask: Read Facebook Page engagement metrics that complement IG insights for creators who post to both.

What we do with it: Surface FB Page reach + engagement on the Dashboard when an IG Business account is linked to a Page.

We do NOT: Read individual Page comments · access private messages · alter engagement data.

business_management

Why we ask: Required by Meta to access IG Business accounts owned by Meta Business Manager (not just personal pages).

What we do with it: Detect which Business Manager your IG account belongs to so OAuth succeeds for agencies and brands.

We do NOT: Modify Business Manager settings · invite/remove people · access financial information.

public_profile

Why we ask: Default Facebook Login scope to identify the user signing in.

What we do with it: Show your name + avatar in the top-right account menu.

We do NOT: Post on your timeline · friend other accounts · contact you outside the app.

ads_read

Why we ask: Read-only access to your Meta Ad Account insights — spend, paid impressions/reach, CPM, CTR.

What we do with it: Power the Ads & Boosts ROI dashboard and merge paid metrics into the Posts table so you see organic vs paid clearly.

We do NOT: Spend money on your behalf · create or edit ads · change targeting · access billing methods or payment details.
